Between 20 and 21st (!!!)

It's been such a LOOOOONG time since I last blogged. I used to blog at veradesu@bullshit.com...  (my close friends would know) but while it was beautiful for those days it has now become stale, a thing of the past and I'm ready to move on to a new phase of my life.

Welcome to Vera Heng.

Sorry Vera Wang looks like you have a rival now  Vera Wang is such a unique brand i luv it

I'm not sure if I'll be back for good but life has been so hectic and FULL of changes that I feel I need ONE SOLE space to hang onto to keep me sane :-)
This would be it.

I've been having about two months of holidays now, and it has all been

1. Work

2. Family

3. Boyfriend and friends

4. Drama (some)

5. Plans for the future (very exciting)

INCLUDING MY 21ST BIRTHDAY PLANS!!!

Now I know a lot of people have UNPOPULAR opinions 💆 about all-the-effort being put into planning a MILESTONE birthday... because

1. $$$ (aka can you afford?)

2. "you think you princess?"

3. Mainstream

And I'm not about to please anybody BUT I've been thinking this through for a while and I conclude that yes YES YES.

It is all of the above. But I have counterarguments for that.
You definitely have to spend some money, and this is where budgeting and planning come into place. Besides if you are working, I don't see why not? Maybe cut down splurging on PS4 games or your mac n cheese makeup.

That one statement about being a privileged-first world-country-young-adult is what is ridiculous!!! We are talking about a lot of issues here. for example to put it plainly why can't girls feel like princesses?
Why is being a "princess" associated with so MANY negative connotations but not "prince"...? Why is something that makes us happy deemed as sinful and indulgent (I think buying makeup is a good example)... its equivalent to saying that people who go doomzidoomzi are bad people. Not necessarily?? (although it does look like it) Some people just want to get lost in the music after a hard day's work, not to hook up.

In addition, if you are doing the planning, coordinating and setting up yourself then I don't see why you SHOULDN'T because its your birthday!!! This sounds disgustingly politically correct but its true --> We celebrate our 21st birthday because it's a milestone. Celebrating it with your loved ones is sharing the joy. It's your birthday, of course the limelight is yours. Let's make ourselves happy for once.

also yes its mainstream because everybody turns 21 its human nature to grow every year and grow old and become a young adult ya its mainstream

In order to NOT make it mainstream, thats where your individual theme comes in :-) If you are going to plan it, might as well go all out (is my belief) unless you are broke like me

With that being said, personally... I LOVE celebrations. As I grow older I find myself liking GATHERINGS A LOT. Just anywhere with good company. And I like to know that I am planning this for myself thematically!!! Finally to produce something other than literary analysis or marketing reports 💆

So yes my point is - Make your 21st memorable.

As for mine, I'm going for a rather dark colour scheme... and I know this sounds obsessive but I could not visualise without ever sketching it. Here are some drafts:

At least now you know I can be a potential wedding planner. 👸

Anyway I'm thinking of doing another Tokyo series ↓↓↓↓ for my recent trip to Tokyo 😭 I miss it so much.
